Admitted to No 24 General Hospital, 27 February 1917 (bronchitis); transferred to England, 16 March 1917, and admitted same day to No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames; transferred to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, 12 April 1917; discharged to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 1 May 1917.
Found guilty, 13 September 1917, of being absent without leave, 10 pm, 7 September, to 10.15 pm, 13 September 1917: confined to barracks for 7 days, forfeited 14 days' pay, and loss of pay for 6 days.
Proceeded overseas to France, 14 September 1917; rejoined Bn, 8 October 1917.
Killed in action, Belgium, 12 October 1917.
