  • Roy was my grand uncle and his bother Selwyn Gustafson was my grandfather. Selwyn served in the Royal New Zealand Navy during WWII. They were a family of seven brothers and grew up in Parnell. I am visitng the war memorial with my children Tomas Gustafson (9 years) and Ella Gustafson (7 yrs).

  • Roy Arthur was the brother of my mother's father Charles Hjalmer Gustafson. He was one of 7 brothers, Charles being the eldest. Otto Hjalmer, his father emigrated from Pargus, Finland to NZ. My Mother is Raewyn Amanda and her brother Roy Arthur was named after her uncle Roy. We have his war medals. I served in the RNZN for 25 years.
