    • Ira Sutherland was the son of Ira Joseph and Agnes Graham Sutherland.

      Attended Auckland Grammar School (Source: RNZAF Biographies (R17845616)) AWMM
    • 1945: 28th June. Mosquito RF582. Return to base.
      The pilot, flying solo, had arrived the previous day to farewell friends prior to leaving Burma for a posting in Britain to take up training duties.
      Departed from Akyab, Burma c11:50 for the return trip to base.
      Disintegrated in mid-air and crashed in the Pauktaw-Kwegu River area about 50 miles east of Akyab.
