  • I am descended from the Irish branch of the family, as I believe many of the N.Z Herricks are. I know we are related to the Somerville family of Drishane House, Castletownsend, which would account for our unusual Christian names. I believe we are possibly all descended from Lieut. John Herrick who won the Shippool Estate in Cork in 1650's. I have his bible (dated 1599), which is currently at my sisters house. I am now retired and live in Spain.
