  • Charles Hood was the son of John Selwyn and Eileen Ellen Hood, of Mount Eden, Auckland, New Zealand.

    Hood was lost while a prisoner of war by the Japanese when the Japanese troopship "Harukiki Maru (Van Waerwijck) in which he was being taken to Singapore was torpedoed and sunk between Madang, Sumatra and Singapore. AWMM
