  • Gordon Hudson was the son of William and Elizabeth Annie Hudson of New Plymouth.

    His parents farmed on Mangawhero Road, Riverlea.

    On 12 May 1945 the New Zealand Herald reported Flying Officer Hudson as missing in action. On 13 September the Herald reported that he had been killed in action. His plane went down in Zevenhuizen, near the city of Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands. The crash was on the border of the province Groningen
    and Drenthe.The engine and propeller is in the province Drenthe, and the rest of the plane fell down in the province Groningen. The distance between engine, propeller and crash is about 400 to 500 meters. Public source. AWMM
