  • Son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hurt; husband of Louie Florence Hurt, of Mount Eden, Auckland. Frederick Hurt was a marine engineer on the ship SS Humphrey, which was contracted for service as transport for the NZ Division. He was then transferred to the examination vessel HMNZS Hauiti, and then minesweeper HMNZS Waiho and finally to the HMNZS Killegray where he was serving when he died of illness. AWMM
