  • Ronald Hutchinson was the son of John Edward and Helen Hutchinson, of Kaikohe, Auckland, New Zealand

    He was born in South Canterbury and worked in farming in the South Auckland district on leaving school. He joined airforce in 1939.

    Hutchinson transferred to the New Zealand Engineers after training in the Air Force and went to Fiji early in 1941. He returned with his unit to New Zealand in June 1941 and then left for Middle East. AWMM
