    • William had 3 brothers who all served in WW2, Ronald (Ron), Gordon and Owen (Maxwell Owen). Owen was WIA in Italy and died in 2002., he is buried in the Military section of Whanganui cemetery Public - David - Other Relative - 31 March 2015 - Family oral history

  • William John Sherlock was My Late Fathers Brother. My Father was Maxwell Owen Sherlock. He had two other brothers. Gordon Sherlock and Ron Sherlock.Ron lived in Christchurch and Westport. Gordon lived in Pahiatua near Palmerston North.All brothers saw action in the middle east and Italy during WW11.

  • I am trying to determine if William Sherlock was the friend of my grandfather's who was killed on Crete in World War Two. All we know about this friend is his name/possible nickname ("Bob") and approximate age (22-24; though this is estimate only). We also have a photo. My Grandfather, 7405 CPL L.T. Fisher, served in 27 MG Bn (10 Platoon, 4 Company) and was captured on Crete. Would be awesome if anyone out there has photos for comparison! Cheers, Ross
