Uncle Rodney was my father's brother.
He lived in Opotiki where he farmed with two brothers. He died near Leipzig.
They were shot down during the big raid on Leipzig.
He served as bomb aimer in a Lancaster.
Some others of the 7 crew were able to parachute.
A few months prior while on leave he visited Shetland, where his grandparents had come from and was able to write detailed description of the life and folk there.
His brother Jack served with the army in the pacific and returned.
