    Husband of Margaret Christine Sweney (nee Bates), married at Wanganui. They had two children: Gayne Jon, born 1 January 1960, and Kristie Jane, born 4 August 1963.

    Carroll was educated at New Plymouth

    After the war he farmed in partnership with Don Fallaver at Mangaweka. AWMM
