    • Born on the 19th February 1921 at Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, (moved to New Zealand in 1922) the son of Samuel and Susanna Henderson Sloan (née Kemohan), of Levin, Wellington, New Zealand. Worked as a civil seer and for the Department of Agriculture, Wellington prior to service. 395 Flying hours logged and completed 67 operational sorties.
