  • Kenneth McCombie was the son of William Middleton McCombie and Annie McCombie (formerly Shedden), of Taihape.

    Kenneth was educated at Taihape and was a keen highland dancer and a member of the Sundowners Orchestra. After Air Force training Kenneth went to England in November 1941. He asked to be transferred to the Pacific. Arrived in India in December 1942 and was stationed with 82 Squadron of the RAF. AWMM
