    PTE. JOHN HOWARD RUSH - DEATH RESULTS FROM WOUNDS -
    Pte. John 'Howard Rush, who is reported in a recent casualty list of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force as died of wounds is the only son of Mr and Mrs J. F. Rush, of Puke road, Paeroa. Born in Paeroa 29 years ago, Pte. Rush spent practically all his life in the town. He was educated at the Paeroa District High School. As a youth Pte. Rush became particularly well known in the town while he was employed by the late Mr F. E. Flatt for some eight or nine years on a paper delivery. After leaving school Pte. Rush became interested in the culture and growing of gladioli and spent a year or so in the Levin district with one of the biggest gladioli growers, in New Zealand In November last year. Pte.
