  • James Roy was the son of James Alexander McLean and Margaret Davina Roy (nee Scott), of Taumata, Otago.

    He had enlisted at Clinton.

    James Roy was lost overboard from HMNZS Sanda near Whangaparaoa on 14 February 1943. The ship was among four anti-submarine and minesweeping trawlers, commissioned in 1941, provided by The Admiralty. AWMM
