  • Hugh Richardson was the son of Major-General Sir George Spafford Richardson KBE, CB, CMG (15/209) and Lady Richardson (nee Warren), of Remuera, Auckland.

    Educated at Scots College, Wellington then he attended Kings College (Town House 1930 -32), where he was a Prefect, member of Rugby XV, Cricket XI, and senior Athletic Champion.

    He was employed in the Trust Department of NZ Insurance Company before enlistment.

    Member of College Rifles Rugby Football Club

    One of his brothers, Guy Napier Richardson (23200), also died in World War 2. AWMM
