  • The son of Henry Arthur Wallis and Ada Charge Burton. Grandson of William Henry Wallis and Harriet Hamling. Great grandson of James Wallis (Rev) and Mary Anne Reddick. Orton Wallis (2/2563) and Hecla Wallis (17334) were brothers.

    Married Marjorie Ada Maud Baker on 11 October 1922.

    Served in 13th Battery, F Sub Gun Crew of NZ Field Artillery.

    Following his discharge from the Army, H.O. Wallis returned to the Agricultural Department of his pre war employer, John Chambers & Son, Fort Street, Auckland. When the Agricultural Department was closed in the 1950's he commenced his own company, Farm Specialties Ltd, taking over the Case Tractor Agency from Chambers. Case Tractors were manufactured by the J.I. Case Co., Racine, Wisconsin, USA. There are some 16mm publicity colour films in the Baker Family Collection. AWMM
