  • John Charles little was my grandfather my mother’s father who died when she was four years old. I have the exact same photo of him. I know he was very respected in the Raetahi community. He was given a Mere By one of the local Maori Chiefs because of the help he gave the local Iwi.’ My family donated that to the Auckland Museum when I was a child He died from pneumonia And my grandmother was left on her own with five children
