  • Sailed as a Rifleman . Transferred to NZFA as Driver, then Gunner. After hospitalization while still in England was posted to Driver and then back to Gunner before returning to NZ on Arawa in September 1917.

    In World War II, George served in the Home Guard. He was attested on 21 September 1940 ; his number being 3/19/232 and Unit was 20th Coy (Bluff). He was discharged 5 November 1941. AWMM
