  • George had a very hard childhood. He was a sociable person with rapid-fire repartee. He liked to burst out into song - particularly the Irish ones. He said at one stage he had been a corporal - may have possibly been an acting corporal. Played rugby in the force. Brother to Allan Charles Barker.

    Employed as groundsman at St Cuthberts College before enlistment

    Died aged 78 years 10 months AWMM
