  • Geoffrey Gibbs was the son of Charles Henry and Isabella Gibbs of Sydenham, Christchurch.

Norm Leaf, fellow comrade, recalls that a group were in Tiberias on leave. Geoff had to go back to camp on duty. We offered to go with him, however he elected to get a taxi back to camp at Samakh. We never saw him alive again. The circumstances surrounding his death interested the Military Forces for months. The Military records show that he died in a road accident in circumstances that could not be defined.

Killed between Samakh and Tiberias. AWMM
