  • Enlisted originally in NZ Army where among other duties, was involved in guarding Japanese POWs at Featherston 1943. Transferred to NZ Navy 16 February 1944.

    Was involved in escorting troopships and was also stationed at the Devonport and Tamaki Training Bases. At one stage, was also on loan to the Royal Navy. AWMM
