  • Son of Mr Frederick Marshall and Louisa Marshall (nee Boswell) of Pakaraka. He was well known and liked throughout the Middle North.

“Buster” as he was popularly known, was killed in action in Greece. Born and educated at Kawakawa he commenced taxi driving at Kawakawa, where he made a lot of friends. Of a most cheerful disposition he was always ready to lend a hand to all in need. He was at Kaikohe when he enlisted early in the war. Mr and Mrs Marshall have received widespread sympathy in their loss and Northland is the poorer for losing a young man of the type of Leslie Stewart Marshall. AWMM
