  • Ivan Marinovich was the son of Lovre Marinovich and of Mary Marinovich (nee Rosandich), of Oratia, Auckland, New Zealand.

    Ivan was the navigator for the aircraft captained by F/O Lloyd Allan Trigg. The aircraft was shot down by Anti-Aircraft fire from a German submarine. Plane crashed into submarine, killing all aircraft crew. F/O Trigg was awarded the V.C. posthumously for episode on the strength of the evidence given by U-Boat commander. The U-boat commander was rescued from a raft freed from the crashed plane. AWMM
