    • Frederick Marsh was the son of Harold Richard and Kathleen Elizabeth Marsh, of Egmont Village, Taranaki, New Zealand. AWMM
    • Frederick Arthur Bateson Marsh was the son of Harold Richard and Kathleen Elizabeth Marsh of Egmont Village. He attended Egmont Village School and then New Plymouth Boy’s High School before working for a brief period of time with LH Johnson Motors. He was also a member of the Territorials as well as a being a gifted pianist. Frederick sailed for the Middle East in July 1943 where he joined 25 Battalion and was sent to Italy. It was during the fighting as at Cassino and the battle at Castle Hill that Fred Marsh was killed on 15 March 1944. No details of his death were given at the time. He died seven months after arriving from New Zealand at the age 21. He is buried in the Cassino War Cemetery. Public - Louise - Researcher - 24 October 2019 - West, J. (1995). Lest We Forget.   • You were my fathers eldest brother. I never knew you personally but often think of you and your peers going off to war, the conditions you faced and then being killed in action. Hard to imagine how my grandparents, your parents, and your siblings coped without you. My fathers name is Leslie Richard Bateson Marsh.
