  • Walton McCarthy was the son of Frederick John McCarthy and of Ilma Andria McCarthy (nee McAlley), of Glenbrook, Auckland, New Zealand.

    He was shot in the stomach on 20 May 1941 during the Battle for Crete and later died of his wound. AWMM
