  • Dear reader of this message, As secretary of the Broken Wings '40 - '45 foundation, based in Epe (Vaassen),I send you on behalf of our board a tribute re Robert Hugh McKillop, sergeant Short Stirling Mk I R 9168 (crashed near Gortel, The Netherlands on December 16th, 1942) . He was buried in Epe. Saturday November 12th 2016 we organise our annual Remembrance Day commemoration for the 21 allied crewmembers of 4 aircrashes buried in Epe, amongst them ROBERT HUGH MCKILLOP. We will remember him and we are very grateful for his courage and his sacrifice that we could live in peace for the past 71 years. Our best wishes and regards, on behalf of the board of Broken Wings '40 - '45, Mrs Hermien Schellenberg - Fisscher, secretary (77).
