  • "lest we forget" . Never, Uncle Joe remembering you with love especially at this time again and placing another poppy for you for 2016. Remembering also your brother, my Dad Bernard Joseph (Bernie) O'Malley and your Uncles, my Great Uncles William (Bill) and Henry (Harry) Kelly.

  • Remembering you my Uncle Joe. You gave your life for us. Your niece is so sad that you never lived to know you had become an Uncle and I never had the chance to meet you. My Dad was your brother Bernard (Bernie) who also fought in New Caledonia and I was born while he was overseas but he and I were lucky he returned home. You are always thought of and I have some lovely photos of you but especially at Anzac Day. I know your Uncles, my Great Uncles, fought in War before you and my Dad, Harry and Bill Kelly. Both were wounded and Great Uncle Harry lost a leg. As I write this I am wearing a small Memorial White Cross with a lovely poppy and green leaf on it. Thank you for such a supreme sacrifice so unfair on such a young man. Remembered by me always. Love your niece Marie Rosaline xx
