John Conyngham

Full length portrait of Private John Conyngham of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, Serial No 52730 NZ Rifle Brigade Reinforcements, G Company. Left for Devonport, England aboard HMNZT 86 or 87 "Maunganui" or "Tahiti". He died of wounds on 10 Sep 1918 in Somme, France and is buried at the Euston Road Cemetery, Collincamps Grave Ref 11.F.2. He was the son of John Conyngham and Annie Susanna (nee Cleary) of 125 Crummer Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland and another son Arthur James also served in the war returning unlike his brother
