  • Ernest Cook was the son of Mr Robert George and Mary Cook, who lived on Arch Hill, Auckland and later at 6 Belmont Terrace, Remuera, Auckland.

    Two brothers Ernest John Marshall Cook (12/64) kia and Herbert Fane Cook (25/734) served in WW1.

    Before the war Ernest worked as a timber miller with Stevens and McPherson in Piriaka, the King Country.

    His medals were sent to his father and the scroll and parchment to his sister who was also named guardian, Mrs C.J. Ryan of Ponsonby. AWMM
