  • Killed on active service in India. Born in Ruakaka, he was educated at Whangarei and district and schools.



    Left New Zealand in 1941, where he gained his wings and stripes the following September. From Canada he was posted to Coastal Command Squadron in England and Scotland and there served as flight sergeant-wireless air-gunner for a period of seven months, before flying to India to take over duties with the RAF there



    He died while returning from a supply dropping sortie with the Transport Squadron.
