    • Rhomas Rakau was the son of Raiha Papuni and Oncone Papuni, of Rotoiti, New Zealand. AWMM
    • Thomas Rakau was the son of Rakau Nohotihi and Raiha Ratema. Rakau Nohotihi died in 1918 during the flu epidemic. Raiha married Oneone Papuni after the death of her husband. Thomas was a half brother to my aunt, Ngaamo Kingi (nee Papuni), the only natural child of Raiha and Oneone Papuni. Thomas also served with his adopted brother, Taylor Papuni, in Italy.
