    • Son of Angus Reardon and of Laurie May Reardon (nee Hird) of Inglewood, Taranaki AWMM
    • Sergeant Ronald Reardon - piloting RNZAF P40N-1 NZ3127 - No.18 Squadron. Crashed into the sea in Kabanga Bay at 12:45 hours on 09 February 1944.
      The aircraft was shot down by an enemy (Japanese) fighter during an escort sortie.
      The P40 dived into the sea on fire from a height of about 900 feet.
