    • Charles Cooper was the son of William and Sarah Ruth Cooper, of Gisborne, New Zealand. AWMM
    • April 1918 - The sad advice has been received by Mrs. W. Cooper, of Wainui, that her eldest son, Gunner Charles Henry Cooper, of the New Zealand Field Artillery, was killed in action on March 19. Gunner Cooper who was well known to a large circle of friends left with the Sixth Reinforcements. He was in Egypt for some time and later went to France. He. was about 31 years of age. His death will be deeply regretted and much sympathy will be extended to his mother and relatives.
