  • Owen Richards was the son of Mark and Olive Richards (nee Growden) of St Albans, Christchurch, New Zealand

    Took off from HMS Angelo at Hal Far, Malta on board an Albacore I (BF696) with three others to attack a convoy of four ships and then failed to return. Last seen at 0220 hours when ordered to attack 7 miles NW of Marettimo Island, 20 miles west of the Western tip of Sicily. AWMM
