    Educated at St Clair Primary School and Otago Boys High School

    As a teenager he ran a bicycle shop with a friend but it went into receivership after a few months.

    After this he was a drover in Otago

    Two sons went to war, Stephen Harry Robinson (NZ413545) and Harold George Robinson (48556) 36 Battalion
