  • According to his daughter, Fay, Woody lost his left leg below the knee in France. He was carried to a dressing station by a German soldier and was cared for by German doctors. They amputated his leg and saved his life.

    A wild man when drinking, he was a lamb when sober.

  • 'Woody' was a loving and proud Grandfather..who can forget the many games of cards we played together after school..and the way he used to send us down to the dairy to get his baccy and papers! He was a hard case, but he loved us to bits! Thankfully we are now reconnected with our family in Bosnia. It is a special thrill for us..
