  • Paying tribute to two Great-Great Uncles discovered while researching my family history – Henry Cornwell (1882-1918) and his brother James Minshall Cornwell (1894-1916).
Henry and James’ nephew, Thomas Leo Cornwell Lineham (1900-1980), was my maternal grand-father (his mother was Martha Jane Cornwell (1878-1920), Henry and James’ sister).
    Public - Barbara - Other Relative - 6 July 2020
  • Further to my earlier note, I can confirm from historical records of the DIA that Henry was born in 1882, but exact date not known. Appears that he was the fifth of nine children born to John & Hannah Cornwell.
    Public - Grant - Other Relative - 12 May 2015
  • Henry Cornwell was my great-uncle. He was my paternal grandfather's (John Minshall Cornwell) brother. Another of Henry's brothers, James Minshall Cornwell, aged 22 years, was also killed in France, in 1916. Unfortunately, I cannot add any further information.
Public - Leonard Grant (known as Grant) - Other Relative - 8 May 2015
  • Remembering the grand father I never knew, and on behalf of my father, Thomas Henry Cornwell, aunt Martha Jane Diamond (nee Cornwell) and uncle, Richard Morrow Cornwell the father they lost at the age of thirteen, nine and five in 1918. Nobody's life was ever the same.
    Public - Cushla Susan - Other Relative - 24 April 2015
