Embarked Egypt for Gallipoli, 9 May 1915.
Reported wounded in action, Gallipoli, 22 August 1915.
Transferred to England (no details); discharged from Portland Place Hospital, London, on leave, 12 June 1916.
Discharged from King George V Hospital, Dublin, on leave, 24 July 1916.
Transferred from No 1 NZ General Hospital to Convalescent Camp, 6 August 1916.
Commenced return to New Zealand, 11 August 1916; discharged, 15 April 1917 (posted to retired list with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform).
Medals: Military Cross, 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
