    "Henry Obernie (sic) Furlong, aged 41, was found dead in the yard at the Levin Hotel last evening. He was a returned soldier, who enlisted at Masterton and served one year, being discharged with a pension in July suffering from a weak heart.

    He came to Levin yesterday to inquire about a position. Deceased also served in the South African war."
