PALLANT - On July 31st, 1921, at Palmerston North Hospital, David, second son of W. J. Pallant, 10 Andrew Young St, and beloved husband of Margaret Pallant; aged 50 years. (MANAWATU TIMES, 1 Aug 1921)

PERSONAL PARAGRAPHS - The death occurred at the Palmerston North Public Hospital yesterday of Mr David Pallant, a returned soldier, aged 50 years. Deceased was a son of Mr W. J. Pallant, a well-known bootmaker, of this town. He had a lengthy war experience, having left with an early contingent of the New Zealand forces, and served with the Veterinary Corps in Egypt and France. In January, 1918, he was invalided home. Since then the late Mr Pallant was, for most of the time, an inmate of the King George Military Hospital, at Rotorua, but had been in the Palmerston North Hospital for the past few months. In the early days he was associated with the Volunteers, and held a long-service medal. He leaves a widow and one child. The funeral will be a military one, leaving his father’s residence, Andrew Young Street, to-morrow afternoon at o’clock.
