    Report
  • William Edwin Batchelor Cox bless his soul was my Mother’s fathers brother which makes William Edwin Batchelor Cox my great uncle.

My Mother is still alive and 93 but never had the pleasure of meeting him.

If anyone wants to see the moving letters William sent his mother while in Egypt then go to family search.org and type in his name. I guarantee it will make you shed a tear. He talks about his time in Egypt and going to see The Great Pyramids!

I visited The Peabody Estate in Pimlico where William lived very recently and was overjoyed to see a World War One plaque with Williams name along with some others ..it was covered with Poppy’s as it was very close to Armistice.

In memory of this young man I am proud to say was my Great Uncle
