    • Son of William Reginald and Constance Robinson, of 51, Wainui Rd., Gisborne.

The newspapers at the time reported that he had died from meningitis and that it was definitely not cerebro meningitis. AWMM
    • DANNVIRKE, this day. As the express train, passed through Dannevirke yesterday, a trooper named Private Robinson, on leave .from Waikanae training camp, going to Gisborne, had to be taken therefrom and admitted to Dannevirke hospital, where he was found to be suffering from cerebro-spinal meningitis. The Health Department issued instructions for the isolation of contacts, and steps are being taken to prevent the spread of the disease. The invalid's condition is said to be very serious. Mr R. D. B. Robinson was informed last evening that his brother, Private Horace Robinson, bad been admitted to the Dannevirke hospital suffering from cerebro-spinal meningitis. Private Robinson wired yesterday morning, advising that he was leaving for Gisborne on final leave, but later in the evening the matron of the Dannevirke hospital telegraphed stating that he had developed the illness on the train, and had been admitted to hospital. A telegram was received from the matron this morning stating that the patient was seriously ill. Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 4 June 2023 - GISBORNE TROOPER ILL.
