  • Post war returned to Ashburton and then settled in South Africa. Served in WWI in East and West Africa as a captain in the Imperial Forces. Described as fearless among wild animals. Retired in Durban , about 1950. As a young man was noted as a athlete and scientist. Was a freemason. Met Kitchener (Commander in Chief) at Burgersdorf.
