  • Member of the New Zealand Alpine Club:

"38 years old at the time of his death, Jim Glasgow was still very much an active climber. he began his climbing career with expeditions to Mt. Egmont while still at High School in New Plymouth and subsequently while employed in the Bank of New Zealand at Waitara. His climbing was interrupted by war service with the Navy in the Pacific, but upon his discharge he rejoined the Bank in Christchurch and became an active member of the Canterbury-Westland Section of the Club. He was Secretary of the Section in 1949."
