  • My name is Moeroa Cuthers, Makiroa Cuthers was my father-in-law, I was married to his youngest son Puai Cuthers who has since passed on 11th Dec 2015. Puai is buried on his homestead in Arorangi, Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Puai and I had 6 children we now have 13 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren at the time of writing this. Puai moved from Rarotonga to NZ in 1958 he met & married me, we moved to Otara, Auckland, where we raised our 6 children and both worked until retirement, we then returned home to Arorangi, Rarotonga in 1989. Puai is survived by his wife Moeroa & all his children grandchildren & great-grandchildren. We are currently organising a proper military headstone for Makiroa which was never done. We feel he needs to be recognised for his part in WW1. The family appreciate that Makiroa has been recognised on this site for his contribution to the war after all these years.
