Roll of honour, listing World War 1 soldiers from the Cook Islands. Ref: 1/1-006732-G. Alexander Turnbull Library, Wellington, New Zealand. This is one of two honours boards. The second relates to the Fourth and Fifth contingents. Both are now housed in the Pioneer Lounge of the Cook Islands RSA.   • Rima Pa enlisted twice, first in 1915 and signed with one name Rima. He attested again in 1918 at both Rarotonga and at Narrow Neck Military Camp and signed his name as Rima Pa.

    Reported that he was visited in hospital, 18th August 1916, in the New Zealand War Contingent Association weekly report published in the Chronicles of the NZEF (August (1) p. 17) as in 2nd General Hospital, Chelsea with an injured arm, and out. Listed again Chronicles of the NZEF (August (2) p. 43) as returned to hospital swollen glands

    Listed with one name Rima in Volume II Nominal Roll (Ex 3rd Maori Contingent as Rima). Listed at Archives New Zealand as PA, Rima - [a.k.a. RIMA] - WW1 16/1195 - Army. Listed in the Chronicles as Rema, A.

    Next of Kin: Pa Nirau (Avarua, Rarotonga)

    Notes: Enlisted in February 1916. Invalided home November 1916.

    During WW2 he served with the New Zealand homeguard.

    Pte Rima Pa is the brother of Sgt George Tuaine 12/1812 3rd Reinforcements, 1st Battalion Auckland Infantry Regiment)

    Headstone/Grave Location: Died in New Zealand. Returned o Aitutaki for burial at Palace grounds, Arutanga, Aitutaki, Cook Islands. AWMM
