I have been reserching my Grand uncle's ( Carl Marsters ) war history and collected all of his war records, to date, and I also managed to apply and recieved his war medals that was a bonus, for the last 10 years I have been reserching the Marsters family military history, and a added bonus my family and I attended the ANZAC commermoration in Wellington at the House of Parliment for the 500 Cook Island soldiers that served in that campaign, I displaid my story board of Grand Pa Carl on the night, it was a proud moment in my life to be part of his life also I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Daniela Maoate Cox of national radio on papa Carls war history, and I also displaid his story board at the Atiu hall a week later, as an ex soldier myself I could relate to Papa Carls experience over seas, Papa Carl was my Grand mother Ann Marsters brother and every ANZAC dawn parade I walk si

Although I never got to meet my Grandfather/Papa Carl Marsters, I am very proud of him for his contribution & sacrifice in World War 1. Highest ranked Cook Island soldier with 2 medals received, who wouldn't be? I was very proud last year when the 500 Cook Island Soldiers were finally publicly acknowledged in Auckland on ANZAC Day at the Atiu Hall in Mangere & I will be very proud to attend the Auckland War Memorial Museum's Dawn ANZAC Day Parade this year as they will be acknowledged there for the first time as well. My grandpa Carl Marsters. Wish he had lived for me to meet him and for him to meet my children and grandchildren. So proud of him and thanking him for having my daddy Parerima Carl Marsters. So blessed to learn that he served our country in WW1 and lived many years later. He's so handsome in his army uniforms, I'm sure many will agree with me that he is the most handsome SOLDIER.
