Roll of honour, listing World War 1 soldiers from the Cook Islands. Ref: 1/1-006732-G. Alexander Turnbull Library, Wellington, New Zealand. This is one of two honours boards. The second relates to the Fourth and Fifth contingents. Both are now housed in the Pioneer Lounge of the Cook Islands RSA. The Two boards originally stood in the old courthouse, but were moved just before a fire destroyed the building. (Information from Henry Wichman of Rarotonga, 2010). /records/22480864

    • The correct spelling of his name is Teariki Karotaua, not Karotana. He is my great grandfather and is buried in the graveyard of the Cook Islands Christian Church in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. He passed away at the age of 60 years. Public - Charles Luis Teatatu Nepia Karotaua Taharii - Direct descendant - 1 October 2016 - I have cleaned and restored his grave at the CICC in Avarua, Rarotonga. I also know the correct spelling of his name as I carry his surname as one of my names. My auntie Maara Karotaua also confirms the information I am providing.
