  • Listed on the Cook Islands Roll of Honour Board, RSA Rarotonga, as 'Pte Piau S'. Source: WW1 NZEF ANZAC Soldiers Research Project.

Manuka then transhipped to "Malwa" at Sydney for Suez.

Notes: We have had confirmation from family members that the correct spelling of his surname is "Simiona" as per his headstone. His NZEF military enlistment records his surname as "Simeona" but this is incorrect. He has a duplicate military headstone at the RSA on Rarotonga with the surname spelt as "Simeona".

Listed on the Atiu Cenotaph as "Simiona Piau" AWMM
